We read submissions August 15 – December 15 and release our annual issue on March 1. We only accept writing created by human beings (i.e., not a shred of AI) that has never been published before.

Poetry: Send 1-3 poems (100-line max per poem), compiling all poems in a single doc. Include a brief, third-person bio (100-word max) in your cover letter. Any subsequent poems after the third poem in your doc won’t be read.
Fiction: Send one (1) piece of fiction (4000-word max). Excerpts from longer works and flash fiction are welcome. Include a brief, third-person bio (100-word max) in your cover letter.
Nonfiction: Send one (1) piece of nonfiction (4000-word max). Excerpts from longer works and flash nonfiction are welcome. Include a brief, third-person bio (100-word max) in your cover letter.

Prude Bruce Clause: Send just one (1) submission (i.e., one doc containing up to three poems, one piece of fiction, or one piece of nonfiction)per reading period. Any subsequent submissions after your first submission won’t be read.
Withdrawing Submissions: As needed, please withdraw all or part of your submission via Submittable (specifying which poems if part of a poetry submission). Simultaneous submissions are cool, yet kindly inform us ASAP if your work is off the table. We only engage with via Submittable.

An Encouraging Note on Rejections: If we reject your work, please don’t take it personally. In fact, our own rejections outnumber the stars, so, you know, we get it.
